Recent Events and Publications

February/March 2003

Wanderings and Wonderings of the Imagination, an exhibition of Gilot’s work on the theme of the wanderer opened at the Vanier Galleries in Scottsdale, Arizona. The exhibition catalogue included an essay by Mel Yoakum, Curator, The F. Gilot Archives. Events included a lecture on Gilot’s Wanderer Series by Dr. Yoakum as well as several receptions and book signings with the artist.

February/March 2003

Gilot exhibited her personal collection of works by Endre Roszda at La Maison Francaise of New York University. The exhibition, Endre Rozsda, A Painter’s Trajectory – Works from 1933 – 1998, will continue until March 28, 2003.

February 2003

As part of the Meet the Masters lecture series, Gilot gave two sold-out lectures in the Copley Auditorium of the San Diego Museum of Art about the modern European masters she has personally known during her career.

January 2003

Gilot presented a lecture on Matisse and Picasso at the Alliance Francaise in New York City as part of the Matisse Picasso exhibition at MoMAQNS. Her book, Matisse and Picasso, A Friendship in Art, has been republished in paperback to accompany this historic exhibition.

Art and Antiques -- Contemporary Art issue -- a six-page feature article by Diane Rozas entitled Painterly Intuition on Gilot’s life and recent work.
